Most dogs love balls, big and small, tennis balls are easier because they fit better in their mouth, but that does not mean, that challenges are not welcome. On that note our dogs love to play ball, but not everybody at the same level, some just for fun, others are more competitive and focused and do not give up lightly under any circumstance. Today, somebody brought a Soccer Ball in the spirit of the World Cup 2010 to our beach. The soonest the dogs saw the ball, nothing else seemed to matter. After some basic instructions were everybody was listening very carefully and showing them how it is done playing in the World Cup, they started to jump, run, trying to grab the ball with their teeth, almost mad that they could not and of course barking at each other. The good advise was throwing out the window. Their are no rules in play, nobody was keeping score or blew the whistle for a foul move. It was doggie free style and free style it was. At some point I think somebody threw the ball into the water and we thought, that would be the end of the ball. The dogs where trying to grab it and each time they did that, the ball got out further and further, until they decided to come back, turned around in a big loop and bringing the ball back to shore. It was funny, most of the dogs where standing in the water and watching, like in a stadium and we humans where cheering them all on. What a great group of dogs and humans we have on our beach. I had so much fun just watching it all.
Woof, woof
